How To Get Your Website Ranked On The First Page Of Google

get your website ranked in google,Get your website ranked on the first page of google, the reason we all want to get the best page rankings is that we need to be visible to everybody who can be a potential client.

If you run a business, then you probably know that 93% of all buying decisions begin with an online search.

However, getting the first ranking is not the end, you need to put in work to maintain your ranking at the top and in this article I will share valuable tips on how you can do that.

1. Have Relevant Content:

Quality content is key in attracting traffic to your site and building your SEO rankings. Quality content should be captivating to read, simple to understand, well organized and relevant to the topic and site.

Using keyword phrases in all your pages is also key because SEO capitalizes on that. Too many keyword phrases, however, could work against you so learn how to balance. Remember the keywords will help in the algorithm for your ranking but your target readers need to find the content useful and interesting so that they keep coming back and your numbers keep growing.

Imagine how a reader would search for a page. For instance, an engineering student might be looking for content in mechanical engineering. How would they type in the search panel? That is how you come up with a way to title your articles and find the appropriate keywords to direct traffic to your site.

The presentation is also key. Using italics, bold, heading tags and other accent tags to highlight keywords and keyword phrases in the content are important. Be careful not to overdo it because that could make your pages look tacky.

Lastly, never choose SEO over good writing. You might have the perfect keyword phrases in the perfect number but if your content is incorrigible and boring, you will eventually lose both traffic and high ranking.

2. Regularly update your content:

get ranked on the first page of google,If you don’t update the content on your site on a regular, you will lose traffic and high ranking as well. Once you have good content and capture the attention of readers, you need to retain and grow your numbers.

The only way to do this is by continuously having new and exciting content for them to read. You can also update and edit older content to spice things up and keep your site fresh.

3. Metadata:

When designing a website, each page has a space found between heads of tags and these spaces are where you should insert your metadata. This is the information about the content found on the particular page. If you own a CMS site, a UMC web team should already have prepopulated that data for you. It includes:

• Title metadata:

This one is responsible for the title of your page which is displayed in the browser window. It is the most significant metadata on the page. If you have a CMS site, the web team should develop an automatic system which creates the meta title for every webpage.

• Description metadata:

This one is the description in the text which the browser uses in the page search return. It’s more like a window display for your site. It should be a description that is concise and appealing of what is contained in your article. It is what encourages users to click enter and to the page to find out more.

• Keyword metadata:

These are search phrases which people are likely to type when looking for your page. You should try and include different phrases. However don’t go too far. If your list is too long, the browser will ignore the data altogether. A general rule is that you keep the phrases to a minimum of six and a maximum of eight. Each phrase should have between one and four words. A good example is ‘Wealthy Affiliate Review’.

4. Ensure your site is link-worthy:

You should have appropriate links within your text. Instead of using phrases like click here within the text, put down the destination name and hyperlink it so that users can get access easily. It also makes your site look more presentable.

Saying click here does not have any search engine benefit beyond the URL attached. Whereas typing down the destination name example Virginia Riding School has more keywords and it helps build your ranking in the search engine as well as the ranking of the page you’ve linked to.

5. Incorporate alt tags:

It’s always good to use alt tags to describe your video and other visual media. They enable search engines to find your page and that is important especially for browsers who use text only.

There are several methods you can employ to improve your search engine ranking and the ones listed above are just a few of them. If you hope to learn more, I highly recommend that you use the following resources:

• www.moz.com- it is a great resource for SEO tools and professional blogs.

• blogs.mtu.edu/webmaster- great for the exact post about SEO and usability.

• www.google.com/webmasters/tools – a great resource to help you understand Google’s site statistics.

Staying At The Top In Ranking:

Now that you’ve worked hard to get a high ranking, will you remain in the top spot? Never.
However, although you might not be always number one, you can ensure that your ranking doesn’t drop. Traffic in the search engine is usually stable. Unless you do something too unexpected to your site, Google will not drop search engines rankings for no apparent reason.

affiliate marketing,So what should you do to safeguard your high rankings even when your site is being upgraded?

• You need to find opportunities to grow the number of users on your page. You can do this by paying attention to on-page SEO, making use of key phrases, editing the titles on your page, amending meta descriptions and updating your content.

• Avoid messing with the structure of your site’s URL and if you are upgrading your site have a 301 redirection plan.

• Ensure your 404 page which deals with errors is user-friendly so that your visitors stay on the site as the problem is being resolved.

I was impressed by the amount of concrete information (not general) in this article. However, at age 65, a lot of the technical jargon is unfortunately over my head. I will be re-reading the information in this article several times and try to absorb it, because I need my posts to be on Google’s first page as much as the 20-something computer expert does. Please help me a bit, though. What is a “301 reduction plan” and a “404 page”. Thank you.

I know where you are coming from at 79 I have to work at it to.

Now a 301 redirection is if you move your site to another URL then you need a 301 page to take customers from the old url to your new one It is explained here

Now a 404 page is when you click on a link and you get a 404 page, this is called a broken link. Maybe that page was deleted and is no longer available. These 404 pages do not affect your ranking in google but should be fixed if only to clean up your site.

      Hope this helps.

Thanks for a very informative post! I knew about the importance of using relevant keywords in your content but was not aware of all the additional Metadata settings that needed to be configured as well. Looks like I have some more work to do on my site beyond just trying to stay on top of posting fresh content. Again, thanks for posting such a helpful article.

Nice article Wayne! I’m trying to update my content regularly and keeping it relative. Is metadata still important on web pages? I know in the past Google would look at this information, but I thought they were looking more at content than metadata. Will keep trying to get articles on page one. Once again, very informative article!

      Hi Kevin

Thanks, You are right content is King and the more quality content you can post on your website the better it will rank. As far as meta goes it don’t hurt to use it along with the quality content. If you have time it is very easy to ad and every little bit helps but content is #1.

Thanks again for reading my post and leaving a comment.
